Prayer for No RAIN

Recently there was another event that I co-organized. It was the rainy season, that even my collegue asked to postpone our colleagues cyling trip at Ubin due to that recently.

However, for this particular trip that i was co-organizing, I voiced my concerns about this and suggested to change our activity to something else, but someone asked to go ahead, becoz this pogramme is better.
Hmm, I hesitated initially but finally decided to go ahead, but know that I and the rest really really need to pray for No RAIN on that particular Thursday on Deepavali! It will be really important, else we can't run our programme at all, or if we use our back-up plans, we will not be able to have the same level of fun, or have anybody join us at all.

Lo and behold, on that faithful day, it rained in the morning on the West side of Singapore where I lived. I'm not sure about the other side, but i continued to Pray.. (actually i/we prayed for no rain and not too much sun).

And THANK the good Lord/God, we had No rain, and had some sun and some occasional clouds that shieled the sun for me on that day! :)

Praise Jesus!

This is actually the 3rd time i organized an event, and God stopped the rained. Thank God.
Maybe I have this prayer gift, or it's the unity of everyone who prayed.

On a side note, the dinner we had was really sumptous and good, at Ubin First Stop Restaurant.. All for $10.

I am finally a CRA!

Finally, i am a Clinical Research Associate as of 5th September 07!

:)

However, will still need discover and find my calling/vocation.
Whether business, this, or something else.

God didn't Short-change me!

Really thank God, and finally, I get to experiece the ever popular saying ' God will never never never never shortchange you' or 'God will bless back so much more than you can contain'. - when you give to God, perhaps generously.
I remember Michael Santoso, and countless other people who shared their testimonies on stage, convictedly testifying of the above.

But for me.. I have not experience it before. And I have also given to God e.g to pay off the building fund loan (with my personal loan still outstanding) since early and 2005-2007, and of course the tithing.In End April, the church finally paid of it's loan, with excess in hand too! I was happy for the church but sad for myself.

Hmm.. Thinking what will happen. Hence I expect God to work in my situation.My savings were depleted, and my CPF contribution increased from 5% to 15% and 20% just last month. Hence, my take home pay also decreased by the years.

Around 1 months after that, my brother called me and told me that he will give me some money as he earned some shares through his company's shares/stock.I didn't know the amount then, and I secretly hoped that the amount will be great, that I will be able to pay off my loan with was still ard 5k.

However, I was a little disappointment as I only got 2k plus, not enough to pay my loan, but I mustered up my savings and managed to pay off my study loan in June 07! Yay! Praise the Lord. (oops, still have comp loan to pay, bu interest free)I told God I want to experience Him in the aspect mentioned above, and so that I can convictedly say the above too! For His glory.

I was wondering why I got so little, less than I need or I expect.So.. Waited.

Just early this week, I got and offer for internal promotion for the position I wanted (CRA) since 1 year ago. Went for countless interviews mid this year but no doors opened.Was grateful to God for this. I didn't know what my salary will be earlier, until I was ushered into my Senior boss's room. He showed me the contract, and I was shocked (inside, and trying to hide my smile)To see that I was given ~33% increase, and the salary was higher than I expected or think I would get.

Wahh..

Come to think back, in March 07, I was promoted also to Sr.position, and I got a 20% plus increment. So, in 6 month/less than a year, I got over 50% increment, and in my 2 years few months in my current company, my salary was increased 69%! Faster/ than I could imagine.

But the bad news is, after CPF, not much left..

but still,
So praise the Lord, who loves me and now I've experienced His blessing, and finally I can convictedly say, God never short-change me.

Aik.. Have Not blogged for almost 7 months!!

Some major things happened in my life, one a blessing, the other a set-back, which got me down for a period.

But during church camp, a prophecy from Pastor Lawrence spoke to me/situation directly, and many many times my situation was addressed by God.

"Swimming pool. Rise up above my circumstace".
Move on.
Rise up to be leader.

After not blogging for so long, it's really difficult to start, coz I don't know where to start.
So I better start something.

Btw, for my own journal, the 2 major things that happened was:
1) God blessed me with a partner
2) My sheep left me. Or I screwed/cocked up my shepherding.

By withholding truths for too long due to fear.
Now I've learnt one of the lessons and will try to apply it in future.
To Not drop a bomb when revealing news.

Didn't know that I was greatly affected by it until few months back when it starts to surface.
I was quite sad, coz remembered God said to me in the beginning, " I will give you a sheep, and give you to be shepherd of many flocks.."
But now my first and only sheep left me.
..
..

But now I'm better of course. With God speaking to me numerous times during services, P&W etc.

I want to move on.

To that sheep, I am really sorry for what happened.
I really did not expect that this will happened. Or I'm too unskilled to manage the events and in relating with you.
Hope this will be reconciled one day..

Welcome 2007

Goodbye 2006.

Yo, I have not blogged for a while yah.
It's already 12 Days into January.

Have thoughts about some plans for 2007. some are which are continuation of my last and previous year's resolution.

1. One of Which is to finish my Hope Seminary courses. (Do the essential courses & 1
Practicum)
2. Go for a V mission trip (am pretty excited).
3. Continue to strive to serve and grow to be a CL in stature --by growing in my
relationship with God (my experiences with Jesus, His Word), grow to love more
and take care of sheeps, leearn to lead more.
4. Grow in Fruit of the Spirit (Patience, love)-- how? (by being close to God and
with the Holy Spirit!

Hmm... above are mostly Spiritual and ministry related goals.
5. Prayer Life: Find out hindrance in praying/
-Also pray more (weekly prayer schedule - really difficult to keep to it man!)or
join prayer ministry.
6. read books (1 a quarter) hopefully. Don't know how to do it, but i definitely
have pending books to read, and reading is enriching!

Career:
7. Take initiative more to be equipped to take on role of CRA (Clinical Research
Associate) - do some readings, look out for opportunities to learn and get
training and exposure. Need to free up more time by concentrating better and
being more and focused in finishing tasks on hands faster.

Health:
8. Exercise 1-2times a week. (Duration minimum 20-30min!)

Pending:
9. Standard Chartered Marathon (10km)

10. Take up Mandarin class (to learn mandarin)to converse, and read some.
- for work and conversing for outreach.

Yeah, that makes up 10 plans (not sure which is actually resolution (after reading Sandy's definiment of Plans Vs Resolution). :)

Am actually fasting & pray for God's direction for my life and ministry, and draw closer to God. and praying for something else regarding to my sheep.
Planned to fast a meal 40 days for a mission trip that i realized clashed DIRECTLY with my company's training in April. But God already answered this prayer in a way. (Praise & Thanks God!) SO i will continue to Fast and seek God for the other 2 major things above. Tentatively for 14 Days only.

Wishes: (but probably lack of action due to time, money and place constraint).

11. Keyboard lessons (for worshipping)
12. Dance class (for fun)
13.Have a bicycle to cycle around! :)

All classes need money, besides time and i don't have much money...
